Sensi is an automated set of elements, designed for children ages two to eight. Sensi uses the sense of smell, hearing and sight to soothe and calm a restless child and induce a healthy sleeping pattern.
Sensi explores the use of new technologies to aid parents in fighting children’s fear of darkness and helps them create a sleeping ritual before bedtime.
Sensi runs a 30 minute sequence right before the child goes to sleep. It uses controlled light exposure, aroma therapy and white noise to help the child fall asleep. It automatically dims out after the 30 minute sequence is done, and its motion sensor becomes activated. As soon as Sensi detects the child is waking up, it dims back in and runs the 30 minute sequence again. Sensi is ready to repeat this for as many times as necessary. Finally, Sensi turns itself off in the morning.
